About The Squires
Video clips of the Squires Band in action here!
The Squires performs as a 4-piece dance band from the St. Paul area that has been playing for wedding dances, community events and various parties for over 30 years! (Read about the band's history) (Read about the band members here)
Our instrumentation includes:
Accordion, Guitar/Bass, Saxophone, and Drums plus full harmonic vocals.
This unique mix of instrumentation allows us to play a broad spectrum of music that many other bands can't. Our music consists of an extremely wide variety of dance music that has proven to meet the needs of all types of fun occasions for many years.
For 15 years we played monthly at the Gasthof Zur Gemütlichkeit (A popular German Restaurant - Mario's Bar in N.E. Mpls.) and had great responses from audiences of a wide range of ages.
Highlights of the past year have been; the Cross Lake MN Summer Concert Series, the Stillwater Beer Brewers Bazaar, the Hastings Summer Concert Series, the Annual New Richmond, WI. Oktoberfest, Ready Randy's Oktoberfest also in New Richmond, Mill City Museum Oktoberfest in Minneapolis, the Annual St. Anthony Main Riverfest/Oktoberfest and the Little Log House Antique Power Show in Hastings! We plan on being back at most of these venues again in 2010 plus more exciting locations.
Since 2002, we have taped 12 half-hour shows for cable TV's Polka Spotlight Show with host Bev Rambough and director John Bulajic. You can catch the shows on channels 21 (Minnetonka area) or 6, 19, 20 (metro area) on a random basis each weekday at noon. The show is also syndicated throughout North Dakota and seen in San Bernardino, California. We are the most requested band by viewers of this unique show. We are scheduled to tape 2 more shows in December of this year.
